Impact

The Impact configuration will add some juice to your game when the ability collides. Playing around with these settings can really improve the 'impact' of your attacks and abilities.

You have the option to:

  • Slow or speed game time on initiation or collision

  • Shake the camera

  • Add explosion force using Unity physics

  • Shake entities

  • Push entities

  • Add a flash of colour on the entities mesh for a duration

  • Apply hit stop to simulate more power behind the impact

  • Splash ability effects so nearby entities in a certain range of the collision will also be inflicted by the abilities effects, essentially creating AOE attacks.

  • Attach the ability to objects hit so have the effect of arrows piercing the enemies body.

Play around with these settings to make the most out of your attacks, the smallest camera shake or slight pause before the attack swings can add a lot of satisfaction to your attacks!

Tag Required for Global Impacts

It is possible to set for some juice functionality to only activate when certain tags are involved in the impact (either dishing out the attack or receiving it).

Setting these tags can stop some annoyance for the player if for example a friendly AI is using an ability which has camera shake. In this situation it will not provide the player with a positive feedback if the camera shake has not been directly started from a player action or the player is receiving the impact from an enemy attack.

Tags only effect the 'Global Impact' section of the settings which includes camera shake and game speed modification

It is recommended for these global impacts that you set for only the playable character to start or receive these impacts for the best gaming experience.

It is highly recommended to read the tooltips in the blue boxes for a full description on what each setting does
